Autorecycling: frequently asked questions
The companies that manage end-of-life vehicles are authorized by the province to which they belong, and are collection centers that have the requisites normally required. The dealerships and car markets authorized to simultaneously issue the SCRAP CERTIFICATE can also collect vehicles for demolition / radiation and subsequently deliver them to the collection center authorized for their processing.
The documents required for the demolition are:
- vehicle registration document
- certificate of ownership
- valid identity document
- if made out to a company with a valid certificate of incorporation
in addition to the documents mentioned above:
- copy of the death certificate on plain paper
- notary deed of heirs and valid identity documents of the same
No, in order to complete the radiation the vehicle must be delivered to an authorized collection center. The vehicle when it is destined for demolition is a special dangerous waste.
For the Veneto region, if the cancellation occurs in the initial month of the tax period (also called the month of payment), the owner is not required to pay the car tax for that tax year. For example, if a vehicle with a stamp duty expiring in December and valid for twelve months, is scrapped in January 2011, nothing is due for the 2011 tax year.
In the event of scrapping after January 1, 2009, it is possible to request a refund of the portion of the tax already duly paid or compensation on the tax to be paid for the new ownership of a vehicle. This is provided that the taxpayer has not enjoyed possession of the vehicle for at least four months. Thus, for example, if the stamp expires in December 2009 and the scrapping takes place in June 2009, the taxpayer can request the return of the amount paid from July to December, counting only the entire months. Thus, a refund or compensation is obtained proportional to the number of months of non-possession of the vehicle owned.
In the event of a definitive export abroad of a vehicle, the "Cessation of circulation for export" must be requested from the Public Automobile Registry (PRA).
